"He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.' "" - LUKE 24:6-7
MY FRIENDS, THE LORD HAS RISEN TODAY! BLAST THE SHOFAR AND SOUND THE GOOD NEWS!
Easter is a symbol of renewal and it certainly is a feeling of renewal following a total of 46 days of temptation and abstaining from certain life pleasures.
Friends,
My 46-day fast from Facebook has been completed and I am back to my old self. For starters, I understand that from the start of my deactivation on March 5, it was not going to be easy, there were those temptations and I had to withstand it for those 46 days and up until now on April 20, I can officially say I kept my promise of never logging on to facebook during that time period. I even kept a countdown going until I could reactivate it which made the urge and temptation to go back even higher. But I kept my promise.
While Lent felt so long because it arrived so late this year, we still celebrate the greatest day in the Lord's ever powerful history: His resurrection from the dead and his promise to us that he would come again.
Opening Statement:
For 46 days without Facebook, I learned that there are many other things to do besides going on one website all the time which is quite true (although I did do a lot of Family Feud clips, failarmy entries, anything I could get my hands on). I also learned that there is a tremendous difference in terms of the Catholic and Methodist way of doing things in terms of Holy Week.
Christians today are still losing the battle on making Easter a national holiday. I personally don't see the problem with it. Why are we the ones who are always wrong? Why do we have to suffer the consequences? It's typical.
We Christians believe in Christ's 2nd coming and we know it happened. But why are we continuously given the guff?
Why can't we have Easter as a national holiday. If religious holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving (yes, it is religious: We give thanks to the almighty LORD for his divine providence) can be national holidays, why can't Easter.

I've also learned during my 46 days away from facebook that it is time to stop sweating the small stuff and move on with my life the way I should. Life's been getting better and only going up from here.
I got so much planned for the upcoming 2/3'rds of the year and I hopefully will be celebrating the fact that I get a new job and won't be forced to work the weekends anymore. That would be the capper of a great year along with some other surprises along the way.
Sweating the small stuff only makes for more conflict but I know that keeping Jesus in my heart makes it all the more easier. Jesus makes my life just that much easier.

What really makes me happy is seeing atheists turn into Christians when they need that helping hand from the good lord themselves. I've seen several friends go from atheism to Christianity because someone put them here on this earth.
Someone definitely did and that's a great Easter present within itself.
---
46 days later, I can honestly say I could probably do this again, but not until next Easter.
I'm back on facebook everyone! Ready to annoy you with my posts.
~ Joshua
