Declining the ice bucket challenge
Hello,
The continuing trend among everyone now is doing the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness for ALS. Folks, what is the Ice Bucket Challenge?
Here's how you do it:
1. Go pick out a BIG BUCKET
2. Fill it with ice water
3. Put a bag of ice in it
4. Dump it on yourself.
5. Then... go get a hot shower because you did that.
Ok? Tell me again the logic on how THAT raises ALS awareness. We seriously have lost our charitable ways.
See as for me, I don't follow the fads or the times. I'm not a hashtagger, a "Keep Calm and..", "I'm so <insert city name here>, you know, that kind of person.
Fads come in and then fade away. Now my question is this: Does that money go to the patient who has ALS ? We don't know, it could go anywhere.
Sometimes I think charities are scam because it never seems to end up for the patient or for the people who need the care. America's certainly lost their ways and their minds right now because a lot of other major things and charities that are being
But what really made me mad was that the state of New York declining to pay tribute to our children with cancer with lighting the empire state building in a shade of gold. Which I think is neat but that upsets me greatly that they won't do it. Aren't children the future?
See ESB will light up for other things but NOT for our children and cancer? WTF IS WRONG PEOPLE TODAY!
You can call me mean but you know what... I really don't care. I've been called enough heartless names for you all to realize that I don't follow fads. We've lost our ways in the charitable world.
When it is a more noble challenge, I'll think about it, until then. I, Joshua, declare to decline any and all Ice Bucket Challenges, while the cause is noble enough, the logic is NOT there.
Good night
