A flick of the wrist...
Hello,
Last night was my first ever trip to Galaxy Bowl in 3 years and Joanna and I took to Greenway Bowl in Odenton to brush up on our nonexistent skills.
We remained completely non-competitive all game long. I actually botched the first game because I was 3 years removed from even touching a bowling ball. But it's okay, I eventually found my groove and went to town. We managed to get 7 games in and you know, if you larger party, you're going to get maybe about 3 games in.
Anyone who hasn't been to a galaxy bowl game or two is missing out. It's probably the one really enjoyable thing you'll do on a weekend night. Personally, Greenway seems to be the best place to do it because the lanes are nice and it's clean unlike if you go to Southwest Lanes, Country Club, or Pasadena AMF. To be frank, you want to do a local-owned bowling joint, not a nationwide chain. The nationwide chains are usually pretty dirty.
The lanes we were at were very clean, it was very up-to-date, and it was a lot of fun!
You remember the days when you had the projector screen and you had to WRITE your scores? THOSE were the days.
How about Fair Lanes? Remember when AMF was Fair Lanes? Their birthday parties were SOMETHING ELSE!!!
Anyway, you should definitely think about a good old game of Galaxy Bowl if you have nothing to do on a Saturday Night. While the start times are a bit late for the kids (9:30-10:00), rest assured, they will be all tuckered out by the time midnight rolls in.
Oh yeah, did I mention that I GOT THREE STRAIGHT STRIKES (I.E. A turkey) on my first 3 frames of game 6 and came so close to getting 4 in a row!? I've never done that in my life!!! So that's one time I can say I did something really awesome in bowling.
