Hello,
Summer is wasting away to Fall and with Fall comes the new colors of the year. Hard to believe we're starting to discuss Fall subjects already...
I like Fall, the temperatures begin a rapid cool down, the colors are beautiful, and every day is like a new fireworks show just brimming with happiness. Plus back roads with trees changing color.
With Fall also comes the flavors of the season like pumpkin, cinnamon, apple, buffalo wings for the football season...
I'm most fond of the month of October when more federal holidays begin popping out of the woodwork and onto my schedule. I'm also going to my very first music concert in October as well when I see Reba McEntire in Atlantic City. Also we got halloween parties and scary costumes. Hopefully this year is better than the last. Last year was fun, I bet this will be even better. Still have yet to figure out what I will be this year but I do have time of course.
Maybe Linus will finally find "The Great Pumpkin"
November is also great when we prepare our stomachs for the Thanksgiving Feast. Turkey, Cranberry Sauce, Gravy, Corn... We all gain a few pounds... That's why we all gotta go to the gym every once in awhile, right? (Not intending to be insulting at all). Oh yeah, November is when my gym membership contract ends, so I'm probably leaving Planet Fitness for someone else.
It's also the time that a "Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" airs on ABC, Christmas Commercials begin popping up, and music as such begins to play. I remember one time when 97.9 FM played "Demon Santa" off of an Ozzy Osbourne sample which was like: Uh... oooooookay, I'm turning THIS off.

I do like Fall, don't get me wrong, but it's just sort of that precursor to whats ahead in the winter time as the almanac is predicting another nasty winter.
The days get shorter, the nights are longer, and it seems like depression just settles in.
But we all know that we got to look at the bright side with so many events coming up in the final third of the year. In the church year, Pentecost/Kingdomtide is slowly giving way to a new liturgical year which begins Nov. 30.

Seasons change and while we hate change? Change is effectively permanent. Everything changes. Life changes in a blink of an eye. Does it have to? Of course it does! Why wouldn't it.
We all have to live with change. I already know my life is going to change real soon and even further down the road.
I'm ready for it. Are you?
----
